The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) has launched the 4th edition of the regional competition event Balkathon, the online trademark competition for the best digital ideas and solutions from the Western Balkans. Balkathon is a regional competition that invites: interested young people, start-ups, entrepreneurs, students, digital innovation centers, science parks, universities, SMEs, etc., from all Western Balkan economies to propose and develop innovative digital solutions in response to the challenges of our daily lives.
Balkathon 4 focuses on:
· Sustainable tourism (sustainable mobility, sustainable arts and performance, etc.); · Green Economy (renewable energy, ecological buildings, sustainable transport, water management, waste management or land management;
· Entrepreneurship (web 3 business ideas, AI-based entrepreneurial business ideas, customer services, predictive analytics, data automation, e-services & digital tools). Selected teams will have the opportunity to receive a two-day mentoring program with experienced experts, the opportunity to implement their solution in the Western Balkans region and win one of six prizes from the prize pool of 60,000 euros.
6 winning ideas will be awarded – two in each category with 10,000 euros. The registration process will be open until September 13, 2023.
The competition will be linked to the most important digital event in the Western Balkans region – the Digital Summit, and the final competition event will be held on October 3, 2023. For more information on registration and requirements, please see the link: https://rcc.int/balkathon
