Study Visit to the Municipality of Durres

On February 28, 2023, a group of students from the Department of Political Science, led by lecturer Mirela Metushaj, conducted a study visit to the Municipality of Durres. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to participate in the role of observers in the monthly meeting of the Municipal Council. A special experience to see and hear how important decisions are discussed, reasoned and made for the city of Durres and its citizens. Then, in a meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality, Ms. Emiriana Sako, they were able to comment on the meeting of the Municipal Council by asking some questions about the participation and political division of members in the Council, as well as about the procedures that the Council applies during the monthly meetings.

Students of the Department of Political Science can do internships at this institution during their studies. The meeting ended with interest in organizing other meetings with UAMD students.
