The European Commission announced the results of the 2023 Erasmus+ call for proposals for the European Universities initiative, which provides support for alliances of higher education institutions. According to the official website of the European Commission, “These alliances of European Universities are bringing together a new generation of Europeans who are able to study and work in different European countries, in different languages and in different academic sectors and disciplines. Thanks to these alliances, students can obtain a degree by combining studies in several European countries, which contributes to the international competitiveness of higher education institutions in Europe.”
With today's results, adding seven new European University Alliances, a total of 50 alliances now involve more than 430 higher education institutions in 35 countries. These include all EU Member States plus Iceland, Norway, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey. With a record total budget of €402.2 million from the Erasmus+ programme for this call, each alliance receives a budget of up to €14.4 million over four years.
“Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës is part of the STARS EU Alliance, announced as the winner in the results of the Erasmus + 2023 call on 3 July 2023. The grant received from STARS EU will support the Alliance to expand and implement its long-term vision to create societal impact on a local, inter-regional and international scale. The Alliance’s goal is to accelerate regional transformation towards a more sustainable future. The grant will also contribute to STARS EU becoming a leading actor in education and scientific research, offering a comprehensive learning experience centered on students from all over the world, supporting a truly collaborative multidisciplinary research environment, based on challenges and achievements.
Students of these institutions can benefit from a unique international and innovative educational offer, allowing them to acquire essential skills and competences for the future. Furthermore, by collaborating with almost 1700 associated partners among NGOs, enterprises, local and regional authorities, the 50 European University Alliances bring innovation on a large scale to the regions of Europe.
“All universities that are members of the STARS EU alliance are excited and ready to learn from each other to improve the quality of their education and research and to help strengthen Europe together. Furthermore, the funding will take us further in our ambitions to influence the world we live in and to tackle societal challenges together. Në vitin 2019, Hanze University inicioi Aleancën e BE-së STARS. Që atëherë, aleanca ka ndërtuar një bashkëpunim të suksesshëm midis partnerëve të saj që rezultoi në struktura të reja bashkëpunimi, mjete, programe dhe praktika inovative në të cilat mund të bashkohen studentët, mësuesit dhe studiuesit.
Aleanca ka bashkuar staf akademik të disiplinave dhe universiteteve të ndryshme brenda Grupeve Tematike të Interesit. Palët e jashtme të angazhuara janë ftuar gjithashtu në aktivitetet e Zhvillimit Rajonal të Aleancës STARS EU, për të ndihmuar rajonet të përshpejtojnë tranzicionin drejt një shoqërie më dixhitale dhe të qëndrueshme.
Universitetet Europiane
STARS EU kontribuon në zbatimin e Nismës së Universiteteve Europiane: një nga aktivitetet përmes të cilave BE synon të krijojë një Zonë Europiane të Arsimit të Lartë. BE-ja inkurajon aleancat ndërkombëtare midis universiteteve të ndryshme europiane, që synojnë promovimin e vlerave dhe identitetit europian, si dhe forcimin e cilësisë dhe konkurrencës së arsimit të lartë europian.
