The joint Professional Master was opened through Order No. 580, date. 04.10.2022 of the Ministry of Education and Sports, within the framework of the EU-funded project "Capacity building for Blue Growth and development of marine fisheries curricula in Albania" (www.almars-project.eu), under the direction of the University of Split, Croatia and the Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy.
Aquaculture is the field of study related to the cultivation and processing of aquatic organisms (such as fish or bivalves), primarily for food consumption. Fishing is the industry of catching and processing these aquatic organisms.
The Master's qualification in "Aquaculture and Marine Fisheries" develops an understanding of aquaculture principles and practices in nutrition and water quality, reproduction and genetics, hatchery management, ecology and physiology, cultivation and production, health management and disease control, product quality, aquaculture systems and technology, experimental design and statistics for biology, fisheries biology and management, and biological business.
