The "Surgical Nursing" study program, opened for the first time in the academic year 2013-
2014, and reorganized in the academic year 2020-2021 according to the legal and bylaws in force,
is part of the Master studies programs at the Department of Technical Sciences
Medical at the Faculty of Professional Studies. Professional Master "Surgical Nursing"
is a 60-credit program that is offered full-time and consists of 5 courses divided into
modules (14 modules). The Master's is offered to professionals who hold a 3-year degree in
"General Nursing" and/or "Midwifery" branches.

The Master of Professional in Surgical Nursing study program is delivered in a blended format
(combination of subjects (divided into modules) and clinical practices). Course development is offered in
weekends intensively and students are required to attend lectures at a time of
short and perform practices in surgical departments for longer periods (practices of
organized in small groups according to a chart provided by the department). This format i
it suits many students who no doubt struggle to break free from clinical practice for it
attend the lectures.

Main Objectives of the Program:

• Preparation of the operating room and the operating table,

At the end of the Professional Master, students will be equipped with postgraduate diplomas and will
be able to provide medical service during routine and difficult surgical procedures.
Surgical nurses are usually around operating tables helping surgeons with
surgical procedure in both public and private hospitals.
