Faculty of Professional Studies

The Faculty of Professional Studies was opened with Decision of the Council of Ministers of Republic of Albania, No. 801, dated  20.12.2006, as one of the main units of the University "Aleksandër Moisiu" (UAMD). Initially it was known as the Higher Professional School. Since 2010 its status has changed to the "Faculty of Professional Studies".

In all its activities, FSP continuously aims to achieve the highest contemporary academic standards, as well as to support the educational aspirations and achievements of anyone seeking to benefit from higher education.

As a provider of vocational education, this Faculty aims to create a modern and qualitative system of vocational education in the country. Such a system will contribute to the creation and continuous development of professional skills and citizenship of young people, through the provision of professional qualifications, not only in accordance with the requirements of the country's economic and social development, but also beyond.

For this purpose, higher vocational education is one of the priorities for the development of higher education in the country. Also, in the context of the country's integration into the European Union, vocational education has been defined as one of the key elements of development policies for a rapid and complete integration of the country into the large European family.

The institution issues diplomas written in Albanian and English and the evaluation is done according to the ECTS and American systems.

When it first opened its doors in the 2006-2007 academic year, it housed around 71 students from all over the country. Today, the Faculty has 2,286 graduate students.
