The Department of Management is one of the five basic units of the Faculty of Business and consists of 13 members.
With a new staff in age, but rich in experience in the field of teaching and scientific research, the Department faithfully guides student and career journeys, and manages with quality and responsibility the progress of studies in its Programs in all three Study Cycles - Bachelor, Master and Doctorate.
The academic staff of the Department attaches importance to scientific research, by elevating the name of UAMD, through active participation in Scientific Conferences (national and international), publications in scientific journals (with and without impact factor), as well as crowning his efforts with Scientific Titles and Degrees.
The members of the Management Department are focused on intensive and responsible work for the benefit of the student community, the academic-scientific community, but also the local community and the business world.
Staff:
Denada Liça is a lecturer with extensive experience in the field of business and management since 2013. She currently holds the position of Head of the Management Department at the Faculty of Business, "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës, where she lectures on subjects such as International Business, Small and Medium Enterprise Management, and Entrepreneurship.
Denada has a deep academic background, including a PhD in “Management” from the University of Padova, Bachelor and Master in “Economics” from the University “La Sapienza”, Rome, Italy. Through her research, she has focused on important topics such as business internationalization, managerial strategies, entrepreneurship and innovation, etc.
She has participated in numerous international conferences and published a number of scientific articles on her topics of interest. In addition, Denada has collaborated in projects that support entrepreneurship, innovation and the circular economy, contributing to raising awareness of environmental issues and social responsibility in business. She has also been engaged in various EU-funded projects aimed at improving education methodologies and empowering female entrepreneurship.
Her skills include project management, academic coordination, and curriculum development. Denada also has excellent English and Italian language skills and good technical skills in financial and management software.
Doctor of Management (1997), Polytechnic University of Tirana; specialized in SME management at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, as well as at other universities in France, Portugal and Germany. From 1992 to 2000, lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Tirana. In the period 2000-2010, she was engaged in the senior management of several important businesses in Albania. From 2010 to October 2022, lecturer in Management at the European University of Tirana (UET).
She is the author of several scientific publications that address topics such as entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education, leadership in higher education, etc., in scientific journals at home and abroad. She has initiated several projects for the connection between universities and business, organizing competitions of ideas and business plans, as well as cooperating with chambers of commerce to create an entrepreneurial culture within the university. She has also participated in European projects on entrepreneurship and innovation, and recently in the field of tourism.
In the period April 2018 – March 2019, she was the Director of the Department of Management and Marketing at UET, while from April 2019 to November 2020, Vice-Rector for Institutional Development and Students at UET. From November 2020 to present, she is a member of the Council of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Ministry of Education. Since November 2022, she is a full professor at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës, in the Department of Management, with a special focus on writing and coordinating national and European research projects.
Olta Nexhipi is a highly regarded professor in the field of Management and Marketing at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës, Albania. With over 15 years of experience, her areas of expertise include Project Management, Cross-Border Management, Service Management, Digital Skills, Strategic and Social Media Marketing, and Professional Development. She has made significant contributions to both the academic and professional fields, combining a passion for teaching with active involvement in research and project management.
Throughout her career, Professor Doctor Nexhipi has been an active researcher, publishing widely in scientific journals on topics such as service management, entrepreneurship and marketing. Her works provide valuable analysis for improving service quality and increasing the efficiency of business operations in competitive markets. She is the co-author of three university books — Menaxhimi, Bazat e Biznesit and Menaxhimi i Projekteve, të cilët janë bërë literaturë thelbësore për studentët dhe profesionistët.
In addition to her academic commitments, Nexhipi is known for her involvement in numerous national and international projects, demonstrating the ability to manage complex initiatives that span sectors and countries. She is frequently invited to participate in conferences as a speaker and organizer, reflecting her position as a thinker and leader in this field. The coordination of conferences and activities for startups highlights her commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, especially within the Albanian business ecosystem.

Redi Myshketa is a lecturer at the Department of Management, Faculty of Business, “Aleksander Moisiu” University of Durrës, Durrës, Albania. PhD candidate in the research topic of World Economy “Sustainable Development Strategies in the Western Balkans”; Postgraduate Master in “European Studies” with the research topic “Spatial and Territorial Planning in the Western Balkans”; MSc in Business Economics and Specialized in Marketing at the University of Miskolc, Miskolc, Hungary.
He has held various administrative positions at the "Aleksander Moisiu" University of Durrës: Chairman of the Board of Administration; Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration; Head of the Management Department; Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business, etc.

His main research interests are mainly focused on Sustainable Development Strategies; Sustainable Education; Sustainable Production and Consumption; Sustainable Environment and Climate Change; Sustainable Buildings; Circular Economy; Spatial and Territorial Planning; Network and Cluster Analysis; Quality of Life Analysis; Healthcare Managers, etc.

Prof.As.Dr. Bajram Korsita graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana “Ekonomist Industrie” (1083-1987). He completed his postgraduate studies (SHPU) at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana (2000) equivalent to a Master of Science in Business Administration. He has taught in Kosovo and at the South East European University (SHTUL), Tetovo and at the State University of Tetovo. He has experience in the profession and management in various sectors of the economy. He covers the role of consultant in projects of the World Bank, KFW and the company GFA, Germany. Currently, he is a full-time lecturer (2012-ongoing), at the Department of Management, Faculty of Business, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës and covers subjects such as “Supply Chain Management”, “Logistics” and “Operations Management”.
Dr. Bislim Ahmetaj has joined the staff of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës, specifically the Department of Management at the Faculty of Business since 2014, as a full-time lecturer. During these years, he has mainly covered Human Resources Management courses, where he is co-author of a series of lectures approved by the Department of Management.
He graduated from the Agricultural University of Tirana (2006), where he also completed advanced MSc studies (2008) and received the Doctor of Science title (2013) in the field of economics.
Previously, he has held various positions in the high-level administration of the Albanian state. He has been a guest lecturer at several public and private universities such as the University of Tirana (Faculty of Economics), Albanian University, Wisdom University, and “Luarasi” University.
Dr. Bislim Ahmetaj is the author and co-author of many publications in scientific journals at home and abroad, and he has also participated in several regional and international scientific conferences.
Dr. Bislim Ahmetaj is an acclaimed poet and writer.
Prof.As.Dr. Sanie Doda is an experienced academic and professional, with a career spanning over three decades. She holds the title of Associate Professor and Doctor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the Faculty of Business at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, where she also serves as a lecturer. Her professional career began in 1988 as an economist, and since then she has held key positions, including Deputy Director of a high school and advisor to the Municipality of Durrës. She is also the author of several scientific papers in national and international journals, some of which are indexed in Scopus. Prof.As.Dr. Sanie is fluent in English and Italian and has contributed significantly to the academic sectors and public administration. She is an active member of academic committees and has written several educational resources, including a book on human resource management.
Silvana Gashi is a lecturer (2019-ongoing) in the field of business economics and environmental engineering, currently also holding the position of Deputy Dean of Teaching at the Faculty of Business, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës. In this role, she manages and coordinates the education and accreditation processes, ensuring that the work of the faculty is in accordance with academic and administrative standards.
She has extensive experience as a lecturer in economics and management, contributing to the development of her students' skills at a high level. Previously, she worked as a budget manager at the Municipality of Durrës, where she covered the drafting, implementation and monitoring of the budget for institutions and subordinate enterprises.
Her extensive experience also includes roles as an economist, manager and internal auditor in the public sector, as well as an environmental impact assessment expert.
Academically, Dr. Gashi has completed his doctorate in Economic Sciences at UNS, with the topic "Fiscal and Administrative Decentralization in the Republic of Albania. Case Study: Durrës Municipality".
She has participated in international conferences and published a number of articles on topics including decentralization, strategic management, the circular economy, and the impact of migration on sustainable development.
Silvana possesses high project management skills and has a dedicated approach to teaching and developing academic collaboration.
PhD.Candidate Zamir HOXHA, is an internal lecturer from 2015 onwards, at the Department of Management at the Faculty of Business at "Aleksandër Moisiu" University, Durrës.
He holds an MSc Degree in Mathematics, from the “Luigj Gurakuqi” University, Shkodër, 1987-1991. He holds an MSc Degree in Jurisprudence 1987-1991, Faculty of “Political Sciences – Law” “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës, 2012-2014. Since 2015, he holds the title of Lawyer, National School of Law, Tirana. 2014-2015.
Zamir HOXHA, continues his studies in the third year of the Doctoral study program in "Economic Sciences", at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës (UAMD).
Zamir HOXHA, is a Lecturer and scientific researcher with national and international experience, speaker at scientific conferences and forums as well as international scientific publications in the field of Entrepreneurship and Business Law. Zamir HOXHA possesses social, interpersonal, organizational, technical and teamwork skills. He has been a member of management and organizational boards in various activities. He has also exercised other public functions and is well versed in contractual relations in the field of Business.
Dr. Mario Gjoni is a chartered accountant and university lecturer with over 15 years of experience.
in the field of teaching and accounting. He graduated with excellent results from
University of Tirana UT in the Business Administration branch in 2009. Holds the title of Master of Science
in Banking and Finance from Epoka University in 2011 and a Doctor of Science degree from the University of
Tirana in 2020. He is a member and representative of the assembly of members of IKM, the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants.
As a full-time lecturer, he is dedicated to educating new generations of managers and
financiers, sharing his knowledge and practical experiences through courses and lectures in
UAMD, Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës. The focus of scientific research is the management of
sustainable, human resources in the age of AI, Service Management and is co-author of
Lecture series on Service Management. He has participated in conferences and articles
international in Europe, USA, Canada, etc.
Dr. Erisa Musabelli has been a full-time lecturer at the Department of Management at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës since 2011. She graduated from the Agricultural University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics and Agribusiness (2008), Master of Science in Business Administration at the Agricultural University of Tirana and earned the title of Doctor of Science at the Agricultural University of Tirana (2019).
Previously, she held the position of claims department specialist at Sigal Insurance Company and has practiced other public professions as an external lecturer at several universities.
She has been part of the Erasmus + programs, within the framework of academic experience exchanges between UAMD and various other universities.
Dr. Erisa Musabelli is a scientific researcher, participant in national/international conferences and has published in scientific journals at home and abroad, as well as in various trainings conducted in the field of business.
Oliana Sula has been part of the Department of Management, Faculty of Business, “Aleksandër Mosiu” University of Durrës since October 2013, where she lectures on the subjects “Business Ethics”, “Business CommunicationandOperations Management”. She received her Doctor of Science degree in Management in 2020 from Estonian Business School, Tallinn, Estonia. Her previous academic education is in France, namely a Master of Science in International Management from IAE Lyon III, Université “Jean Moulin” Lyon III, Lyon, France, as well as a Bachelor in Economic and Management Sciences, Université Lyon Lumière Lyon II, Lyon, France.
Her research interests are youth entrepreneurship, female entrepreneurship, women's empowerment in business, digital skills, digital transformation of business, sustainable development, business social responsibility and consumer ethics. She is an author and co-author in international scientific journals as well as a participant in international scientific conferences. She has international teaching experience in Estonia, Spain and France and has also been trained by Erasmus+ staff exchange trainings in Germany, Spain and Romania. She has had the opportunity to exchange research experiences in Spain and Argentina. She has offered her expertise in national and international projects funded by local and foreign donors such as UAMD, the University Association of La Francophonie and the European Union. She has excellent command of French, English, Spanish and Italian and has notions of Portuguese.
Lecturer and researcher, with participation in national and international conferences, as well as publications in scientific journals at home and abroad, known in the fields of business management, public administration, tourism management and its impact on the national, regional and wider economy. Has developed organizational, social and technical skills, as well as the ability to work in a group. Currently, he is a lecturer at the Department of Management, Faculty of Business, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës since April 2018, where he teaches the subjects Management Fundamentals, Business Fundamentals, Performance Management and Corporate Sustainability, with a focus on research in the fields of Business Management and Tourism. He was Chancellor at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës during the period 2006-2017. He completed his studies as an Associate Professor in June 2015 and received his PhD in Economic Sciences at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University during the period 2009-2014.
Dr. Juliana Osmani has been a lecturer at the Department of Management, Faculty of Business (UAMD), since 2008. She holds a degree from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics, in the Business Administration branch, Management profile.
In 2007, he completed his studies in the Second Cycle, Master of Science in "Business Management", at the Faculty of Economics, University of Pisa.

Previously, she has served in various positions in the private sector, such as credit analyst at Credins Bank, assistant in budget drafting and monitoring at Tioxide Europe s.r.l, etc.
Dr. Juliana Osmani is the author of the text “Organizational Decision Making” (2017) and more than 20 scientific articles published in national and international journals or presented at international conferences organized domestically and abroad. Her research interests consist mainly in the field of managerial decision making and strategic management.
Dr. Luftim Cania is a full-time lecturer at the Department of Management, Faculty of Business, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës since 2015 and in 2013 he was engaged part-time at the Department of Management, UAMD. He also held the position of Vice Dean for Scientific Research in the period November 2018 - September 2020. Previously, Dr. Cania was part of a private HEI, where he also held leadership positions as Head of Department and Vice Dean. He is engaged part-time at a public HEI. He has also worked in the private sector in financial and managerial positions.
He holds a degree from the “Aleksandër Xhuvani” University, Elbasan in the Management Profile and holds a doctorate from the European University of Tirana (Doctorate in Economic Sciences, Management Profile. Dissertation topic: Talent Management in Conditions of Economic Crises).
Dr. Cania is the author and co-author of more than 30 publications in scientific journals, regional, national and international conferences. His research field is focused on the field of management and mainly on Human Resource Management.
Valbona Mehmeti offers her expertise in various disciplines of the field of business management, focusing particularly on Cross-Cultural Management, Business Planning and Start UP etc. She is the author and co-author of various scientific texts and articles, as well as a participant in scientific activities, both domestically and abroad.
