The Continuing Education Center manages with quality and responsibility the implementation of three study programs:
Education and professional training is a field of professional skills that combines education with practical experience, equipping individuals with specific knowledge and skills, as well as competencies to integrate into the labor market.
Professional programs create the opportunity to welcome high school graduates without average grade criteria, by professionally preparing them for the job market.
These programs are completed with 120 credits, in full-time study format, with a standard duration of 2 academic years. një ndërthurje edukimi dhe shërbimi social.
Offering two foreign languages (English and German), the program provides the opportunity for employment not only in the domestic market but also in the international one.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ilir Sallata is a professor at the Continuing Education Center, Faculty of Education, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës. He currently serves as the head of this core unit.
He graduated as a History Specialist at the Faculty of History and Philology at the University of Tirana. He has completed: Master of Science (MSc) in History at the Faculty of History and Philology at the University of Tirana, as well as Master in Management and Supervision of Educational Institutions at Epoka University. In 2016 he earned the degree of Doctor of Science, and in 2024 the title of Associate Professor at the Faculty of History and Philology at the University of Tirana.
With experience in the field of education and scientific research, for two decades he has contributed to the development of pre-university and higher education in Albania. Prof.Asoc.Dr. Ilir Sallata is the author of a number of publications in scientific journals and a participant in regional, national and international conferences. His publications from 2012 onwards include the fields of history and education. Trainer for the continuous qualification of teachers with the module: “Education on religions and the prevention of extremism”.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rita Loloçi is a professor at the Continuing Education Center, at the Faculty of Education at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University, Durrës.
She holds a degree from the University of Tirana (Bachelor in Philosophy), from the University of Tirana (Master of Science in Sociology) and the University of Tirana (Doctorate in Philosophy).
Previously, she held the position of lecturer at the Tirana Professional Business Academy.
Dr. Rita Loloçi is the author of publications in scientific journals and regional, national and international conferences.
She is a trainer of several modules accredited by MASR, for the training of teachers in the pre-university system.
Prof.asoc.dr. Menada Petro is a professor and researcher at the Center for Continuing Education, Faculty of Education, at UAMD. With a rich experience (14 years) in the field of social sciences, education and professional training, she has distinguished herself as a lecturer and trainer. She currently holds the position of Vice Dean, Faculty of Education. Links with renowned international organizations (“Institute for Future Studies” and “American Organization of Science and Technology”) underline her commitment to academic excellence and innovation in the field of education. She has also received qualifications from international university institutions in Spain, Finland, Romania and Austria, increasing her expertise in teaching and learning methodologies. With an impressive research portfolio and participation in international journals and conferences, Prof.asoc.dr. Petro continues to make an important contribution to our education system by being the author and co-author of several books and part of several working groups for the design of new modules and study programs based on the demands of the labor market.
Prof.Assoc.Dr. Orneda Gega is a professor at the Center for Continuing Education at the University “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës. She completed her Bachelor studies at the University of Tirana (BSc in Social Work), her Master of Science studies at the University of Tirana (MSc Social Policy), her Doctoral studies at the University of Tirana (PhD in Social Work) and the title of Associate Professor. She has been working at the University “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës since 2008, during which time she has worked as an administrative and academic staff, full-time and part-time.
She is a trainer for the continuous qualification of teachers with the modules: "Active Citizenship in a Global Society", "Basic Skills for Active Citizenship", "Inclusion in Education" and "Designing Learning for All, Teaching Forms and Learning Styles".
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orneda Gega is the author of several publications in peer-reviewed journals, at regional, national and international conferences, as well as in research projects.
Dr. Matilda Memaj is a dedicated and knowledgeable lecturer in the field of social sciences, serving at the Center for Continuing Education at the Faculty of Education of the University “Aleksandër Moisiu”, Durrës. Since 2009, she has contributed to the education of new generations, bringing high standards and a tireless commitment to teaching as a part-time academic staff, and since 2018 as a full-time academic staff. In the period 2012-2020, Dr. Memaj also served as a part-time academic staff at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Tirana. Her academic commitment and contribution has been excellently reflected in her scientific works, which have been successfully presented at national and international conferences, addressing issues related to the fields of social sciences, educational sciences, learning processes, etc. As the author of many acclaimed scientific articles, Dr. Memaj continues to actively contribute to her field, continuously influencing and improving teaching processes. She is also part of working groups for the design of study programs, bringing important and innovative changes in the field of education.
Dr. Alfred Halilaj is a lecturer at the Center for Continuing Education, Faculty of Education, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës. He graduated in 2007 from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Philosophy-Sociology, Sociology Department. He completed his Master of Science in “EU Diplomacy and International Relations” at the University of Tirana, Institute of European Studies. In 2017, he defended his “Doctor of Science” degree at the “Academy of Albanological Studies”, “Institute of Anthropology and Art Studies”, Tirana. He has been working in the university and pre-university education system for 14 years. He has worked as an external lecturer at several public universities (University of Tirana, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës) and private universities (“Luarasi” University, “Qiriazi” University College) during these years. He has served as a teacher, deputy principal, and principal in high and vocational schools. He is the author of dozens of scientific publications and a participant in national and international conferences in the fields of sociology, anthropology, communication, and education.
Dr. Nevila Mehmeti is a lecturer at the Continuing Education Center, Faculty of Education, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës. As an experienced professional in the field of education and scientific research, with a career spanning over three decades, she contributes to the development of pre-university and higher education in Albania. Her experience in pre-university education includes experience as a designer and evaluator of Olympiad tests, State Matura and subject programs. In her role as a lecturer at the university, Dr. Mehmeti has taught various modules with a focus on the fields of history and education. Also, as a trainer for teachers and administrators, she contributes to improving professional and management skills and strengthening their capacities in the education system. Dr. Nevila Mehmeti has participated in several international trainings and projects, continuously increasing her experience in teaching, as well as in higher education policies. She is the author of several scientific articles and has presented her work at national and international conferences and seminars, contributing to the development of education and scientific research. Her dedication to the field of education and professional development is a constant priority in her work.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Albana Hodaj is a lecturer at the Continuing Education Center, at the Faculty of Education of the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës.
She graduated as a Language and Literature Teacher at the Faculty of Social Sciences, “Eqrem Ҫabej” University, Gjirokastër. She completed a Second Level Master (MND) in Communication Sciences, profile “Communication Theory and Models”, European University of Tirana (2010).
He earned a "Doctor" degree in Political Science, International University of Struga (2020), North Macedonia (recognized by MASR).
Holds the scientific title "Docent" in the teaching-scientific field granted by the Teaching-Scientific Council at UNS (2020).
With extensive experience in public and non-public pre-university education, she has completed numerous trainings and qualifications, training in teaching methodologies and evaluator of national tests of the State Matura exams since 2008. Head of the Regional Educational Directorate of Vlora (2013-2019), she has been part of important reforms in the pre-university system, knowledgeable about legislation and educational policies. Part of the working groups established by the MAS. Dr. Albana Hodaj is the author of several publications in scientific journals and a participant in regional, national and international conferences. Since 2017, external lecturer at public and non-public universities. From 2021 onwards, she lectures full-time at UAMD.
Doc.Dr. Albana Hodaj, in collaboration with the Center for Albanological and Balkan Studies at the "I.Qemali" University of Vlora and the International University of Struga, has published the scientific monograph "The Image of Albanians in European Culture and Integration" (2022).
As a literary creator, she is the author of 6 publications in poetry and prose. Her publications from 2010 onwards include the field of education and political communication with numerous journalistic articles.
Msc. Sonja Llana is a lecturer at the Center for Continuing Education, Faculty of Education, University of “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës. She holds a degree from the University of Tirana (Bachelor in Albanian Language and Literature), from the University of Tirana (Master of Science in Literary Theory and Criticism). She previously worked as an external lecturer at the University of “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës. She is the author of a publication and several scientific articles.
Msc.Bruno Gorana is a lecturer at the Continuing Education Center, at the Faculty of Education of the University “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës. In 2019 he graduated as: “Physiotherapy” at the Faculty of Professional Studies at the University “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës. In 2021 he completed his Master of Science studies in “Clinical Physiotherapy” at Aldent University. Previously he worked as a “Physiotherapy” at the Albanian Football Federation. He then worked at the Regional Hospital of Durrës, in the surgery sector. He has also worked as a Physiotherapist in two private clinics in the city of Durrës. He has worked as a part-time lecturer at the University “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës.
Dr. Mirela Lazimi is a lecturer at the Continuing Education Center, at the Faculty of Education of the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës.
She graduated as a History Teacher, first specialty and Geography Teacher, second specialty, at the Faculty of History and Philology at the University of Tirana in 1999. In 2021, she earned the degree of Doctor of Science in History at the Faculty of History and Philology at the University of Tirana.
Previously, she worked as a teacher in pre-university education for 22 years. During this time, she has completed a series of trainings and qualifications related to the Albanian education system. She is certified by the QSHA as a designer and evaluator of national tests for the State Matura exams, having been the author of the design of the tests since 2011 onwards.
