Within the framework of the Diplomacy and Foreign Policy Analysis course, a group of students from the Bachelor's program of the Department of Political Science and the Master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy of Alkesandër Moisiu University, led by lecturer Dr. Mirela Metushaj, had the pleasure of meeting at the Embassy of the Netherlands with the Ambassador, His Excellency, z. Reinout Vos.
The conversation with the ambassador was very pleasant and interesting. Some of the questions addressed to the ambassador were about the challenges of a diplomat's work today and his role as ambassador in Albania, his opinion about Albania's integration into the EU and a perspective on the future of the EU considering that after Brexit we are seeing many far-right candidates win the elections, for example the right-wing populist Geert Wilders in the Netherlands or Meloni in Italy, or even in Spain, France but also Trump. There was also a discussion about the positive aspects of cooperation between UAMD and European Universities with various student and academic staff exchange programs.
The meeting ended with the desire and invitation to have Mr. Ambassador for an open lecture on the UAMD Campus where we could discuss diplomacy today.
