"Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës has been officially accepted as a full member of the UniAdrion, the international academic network that unites over 55 universities from 10 countries of the Adriatic-Ionian Region. This important development for our university was formalized during the UniAdrion General Assembly, held on 4-5 May 2025 at the University of Ioannina, Greece, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the network, founded in 2000 with the Ravenna Declaration.
UAMD was represented at this event by Prof. Dr. Azeta Tartaraj, Vice Rector for Scientific Research, who introduced our university and emphasized the role that UAMD devotes to internationalization, interuniversity cooperation and the development of scientific research as essential components of its academic mission. During her speech, she underlined UAMD's readiness to actively contribute to the UniAdrion network through joint projects, student and staff mobility, and the exchange of best practices in education and research.
Membership in UniAdrion represents a strategic step to strengthen the international profile of UAMD and expand opportunities for students and academic staff at regional and European level. Through this network, UAMD becomes part of joint initiatives in areas such as blue development, environmental quality, sustainable tourism, social challenges and development policies – in line with the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).
