Today, the project "Environmental Protection through Integrated Waste Management in the Municipality of Durrës" was launched, an important project led by the Municipality of Durrës, in which UAMD is a partner.
This project will stimulate sustainable economic development and environmental protection through the promotion of recycling and waste management.
The Rector of UAMD, Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi thanked the Municipality of Durrës, in particular the Mayor, Ms. Emiriana Sako, for the great and well-deserved attention it pays to the issue of waste management, but also for the great readiness, dedication and significant will to cooperate with UAMD and the great contribution it continues to provide in joint projects that serve the city, students and sustainable development in all sectors of the city's life and residents.
The Mayor, Ms. Sako, stated that this project is a value for the city and, among other things, will ensure the digitalization of data on waste management and, in cooperation with UAMD, a strategy for increasing public awareness, civic environmental education and the provision of academic expertise will be organized.
Rector Fortuzi thanked all other partners engaged in this important project, wishing them success and further cooperation in other projects, and assuring them that in UAMD they will find a serious, dedicated, professional partner, with students ready and willing to contribute and with an academic staff that will honor every joint venture and commitment.
