Final meeting of the research project on CO₂ emissions in the Durrës–Porto Romano port complex

 

The last meeting of the research project took place at the Durrës Port Authority “CO₂ emissions from port operators and their impact on the Durrës–Porto Romano port complex”, in collaboration with the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës and with the support of the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSH), launched in January 2023.

The study highlights the impact of port activities on local CO₂ concentrations and emphasizes the importance of taking measures to reduce emissions, through technology modernization and the implementation of sustainable practices.

This project represents an important step towards the development of greener ports and is closely linked to initiatives for the decarbonization of the maritime sector, including the project ZeroC, which aims to promote zero-emission solutions and the transition towards cleaner and more sustainable maritime transport.
