Zero C – “Enhancing knowledge and skills at WB HEIs in preparation for zero carbon maritime transport and logistics society”, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ CBHE program. During the first two days, an intensive training was held with the participation of academic staff from partner universities in the Western Balkans. Topics covered included digitalization technologies, the use of the Internet of Things (IoT), increasing energy efficiency and reducing pollution in the maritime sector. Prof. Vasileios Podimatas from the National Technical University of Athens and Prof. Ing. Marco Mita from the University of Bari, Italy, shared their expertise on the impact of smart technologies on the sustainable transformation of transport and logistics. Subsequently, the project partners gathered to assess the progress of the first year of implementation and to plan the next steps. Key topics were discussed such as: the interim technical and financial report, the development and accreditation of LLL courses and programs, the involvement of academic staff, the installation of new equipment, staff training, as well as dissemination and institutional engagement strategies.
