Meeting with the Student Council at UAMD: Discussions on Objectives and Improving the Student Experience

On October 16, 2024, the Rector of the University of “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës, Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi, held an important meeting with the Student Council, where the main objectives for the academic year that has just begun were discussed. This meeting was organized with the aim of addressing and improving the student experience at UAMD, including the concerns and needs of students.

1. Academic Objectives for the Year 2024-2025: During the meeting, Rector Fortuzi and members of the Student Council discussed the priorities of this academic year, including improving the quality of teaching, increasing cooperation between faculties and students, as well as developing various scientific and cultural activities.

2. Improving Infrastructure and Student Services: Another important topic was the need to improve university infrastructure and services provided to students. The Student Council raised issues on improving study facilities, library, laboratories and information technology services.

3. Support for New Students and Integration Assistance: One concern that was discussed was the support for new students who have started their studies this year. The importance of proper orientation was emphasized, as well as support for their integration into the university community and the development of their academic and social skills.

4. Development of Extracurricular Activities: Students expressed a desire to have more opportunities to engage in extracurricular activities, such as student clubs, sports activities, conferences, and workshops, that would assist in their personal and professional development.
