The first workshop within the framework of the "Blended Education in Western Balkan Universities" Project is organized at TAMK University in Finland.

All partner universities of the project "Blended Education in the Universities of the Western Balkans/
Blended Education in Western Balkans Universities” (BEWBU), gathered at TAMK University in
Finland between 8-10 April 2025, at the first workshop on comparative analysis of higher education
blended education in higher education institutions in the Western Balkans and the countries
of the European Union. This training was opened by the hosts of TAMK University and by representatives of
UAMD, which is the leader of this project. The representative of TAMK, Prof. Juha Lahtinen welcomed the
to all participants and said that the project has entered a new phase of training that will impact
the universities' approach to blended education. UAMD representative, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elda Tartari
evaluated the progress of the project so far and thanked the partners for their cooperation in this
first year of project implementation. In this meeting, all working groups made a comparative analysis of
blended learning in the Western Balkans and EU countries, needs were identified for
training on hybrid and blended learning, as well as the exchange of best practices
EU partners for this approach to higher education.
This was the first workshop held by the Finnish partners. Meanwhile, during 2025, there will be
training from partners at the University of Leon in Spain and West University in Sweden.
The BEWBU project, part of the Erasmus+ programmes, aims to support, promote and enhance
capacities in the application of blended education in Albania and the Western Balkans region.
