Announcement for the allocation of scholarships for students from the Republic of Kosovo in bachelor's programs at public universities in Albania for the academic year 2024-2025
The Ministry of Education and Sports, based on Law No. 23/2024 "On the ratification of the cooperation agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in the field of higher education and scientific research", announces the criteria for the allocation of scholarships for students from the Republic of Kosovo at public universities for the academic year 2024-2025.
Conditions and criteria
Bachelor's level students studying at public higher education institutions in Albania and who are citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are eligible for a scholarship, if they meet the following criteria:
Application criteria for the first year of Bachelor's degree:
Citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo.
Enrollment for the first time in a Bachelor's program at a public HEI in Albania for the academic year 2024-2025.
Average secondary education grade of at least 7, according to Decision No. 363, dated 26.5.2022 (for study programs in arts and sports, this criterion does not apply).
In cases where the quotas for first-year students are not met, scholarships will be awarded to students from other years.
Application criteria for intermediate years:
Completion of the first or second year of a Bachelor's degree.
Not have repeated a year of studies.
Passing all previous year's exams within the time specified by the study program.
The average grade for the first or second year must be at least 7, according to Decision No. 363, dated 26.5.2022.
Application procedure
The announcement will be sent to public higher education institutions (HEIs) and will be published within 3 days of receiving the notification from the Ministry. The deadline for publication on the HEI website will be 2 weeks. Students apply with the required documentation to the relevant institution, according to the announced criteria.
After the deadline, the list of beneficiary students will be forwarded to the Ministry of Education and Science within one week.
Additional information:
Students cannot benefit from more than one scholarship scheme from the Ministry in the same academic year.
The list of beneficiary students will be published on the official website of MAS.
The scholarship amount will be 1000 euros per academic year for each beneficiary.
Failure to attend regularly, according to the regulations of the respective HEI, will be grounds for termination of the scholarship.
