Today, as part of efforts for a cleaner and more sustainable environment, the “Plant your tree at UAMD” initiative took place. This symbolic, yet highly impactful, step began at the Durrës Eco-Park, where students of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës contributed by donating and planting several new trees.
The event brought together senior leaders from the university and the city. The event was attended by the Rector of UAMD, Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi, the Mayor of Durrës, Ms. Emiriana Sako, the University Administrator, Mr. Gerald Ceka, and the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. As. Dr. Suela Kastrati. All of them shared a common message: the importance of environmental responsibility and the need to build greener and more sustainable areas in the city.
This initiative marks just the beginning of the efforts of “Aleksandër Moisiu” University to create more green spaces in the city of Durrës. Through this activity, a powerful message was conveyed that change starts with our daily actions and that we can all, by coming together, contribute to a better and healthier future.
A special thank you goes to everyone who joined this initiative, including students, staff and representatives of local institutions. Planting trees today is a symbol of our commitment to future generations, giving them a greener city and a cleaner environment.
