After the successful plantings at the Durrës Eco-Park, the “Plant your tree!” initiative continued with enthusiasm at the University Campus of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës. The activity brought together pupils, teachers, students, academic and administrative staff, volunteers and local organizations, who, by collaborating, planted over 250 different trees, transforming the campus into a greener and more sustainable space.
A special aspect of this initiative was the personalization of each tree with the name of the planter, turning this activity into a special memory for all participants. In addition to the planting, awareness-raising activities were organized on the importance of recycling and protection from plastic pollution, reinforcing the message for a clean and protected environment.
At the end of the activity, certificates were awarded for volunteering and the art of recycling was promoted as a way to reuse materials and reduce pollution. These moments not only served to educate the participants, but also inspired them to take small but important steps in their daily lives for the environment.
The Rector of UAMD, Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi, thanked the participants and emphasized the importance of this cooperation, promising the continuation of similar projects between the university and schools of Durrës. This initiative symbolizes UAMD's commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and building bridges of cooperation with the local community.
