In the premises of the University Library, on 30.04.2025, Dr. Drita Isufaj, as part of the activities of the Department of Literature, organized the meeting: "The Magic of Translation and Teaching in Hispanic Literature".
Honored guests, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Flavia Kaba, winner of the "Best Translation of the Year 2021" award, Head of the Department of Spanish Language. FGJH. UT and lecturer Lucía Izquierdo Diez shared with students and attendees their many years of experience in translating and teaching literature in the Spanish language.
This meeting, more than an academic discussion — was a celebration of devotion to the word, a testament to how the translator becomes a bridge between cultures and how the teacher sows inspiration that transcends linguistic boundaries.
From Zafón to Julia Navarro, Bazterrica, Ocampo, from theory to practice, the conversation flowed naturally between memories, challenges, and the love for literature that makes us more human.
The activity became a powerful reminder of the vital role that translation and education play in building a more sensitive world enlightened by knowledge and intercultural dialogue.
The month of April, its last week, was chosen as a time when the eyes and attention of the whole world are directed towards books and especially towards Spanish literature, given that April 23 was chosen as World Book Day also because on this date a colossus of Spanish and world literature, Miguel de Cervantes, passed away.
