Opening of the 8th Edition of the National Competition
“NOVELAT GRAFIKE SHQIPTARE 2024”
Organization criteria
Attendance
The competition is open to all young people up to the age of 29.
Each participation in the competition automatically accepts all the criteria officially announced by the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation.
The main
The ultimate goal of this cultural activity is artistic and linguistic education through the values of material (context) and intangible (expression) cultural heritage, applied to the genre of graphic novels, as well as keeping folk culture alive.
Topics
The themes of the works must be based on Albanian themes from:
cultural heritage (museums, archaeological parks, cultural monuments, historical centers, etc.),
80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Homeland
Albanian literature (novels, short stories, short stories),
legends and tales, lore, customs and traditions,
folk games,
Albanian cinematography,
everyday realities, etc.
Importance should be given to the text and content of the fable, the techniques of writing, the ways of expressing the fable, the description of the characters, the framing of the narrative, the use of symbolic elements as language or communication tools, etc.
This project also aims to protect and develop the Albanian language. For this reason, special importance should be paid to the use of onomatopoeia in graphic novels.
As for accompanying texts, they can be in standard Albanian, in dialect or in the language of national minorities.
Criteria for the realization of the works to be presented:
Authors can submit the graphic novel in standard Albanian or in a dialect. If the author belongs to a national minority, he/she can submit the Graphic Novel in the language of the community and with the appropriate translation into Albanian.
Graphic novels that develop the text solely through graphic images and the use of onomatopoeia in Albanian or minority languages are preferred.
In the submitted works, the participants must pay attention to the Copyright Law. Failure to comply with this Law will result in the disqualification of the submitted work.
The technique is free.
Interested parties must submit their works in digital format jpg or pdf. The work must be in an odd number of sheets, (3 or 5 or 7 or 9 A4 sheets) with high resolution. The work must be accompanied by a short narrative text describing the novel (1/3 A4 page).

Juria
A jury composed of 3 personalities from the field will be established to determine the competition prizes.
The jury has the right to disqualify works that do not meet the requirements and criteria set and officially announced by the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation.
The decisions made by the Jury will be final.
