On May 5, 2023, the Faculty of Education and the Department of Albanian Language at this faculty successfully organized the first scientific conference in linguistics, with the topic: "Written and spoken discourse, real problems and concrete proposals for their solution".The conference was held under the auspices of the dean of this faculty, Prof. Klodiana Leka, and under the organization of the Head of the Department of Albanian Language, Prof. Edlira Abdurahmani.
The conference was organized in collaboration with the University of Tirana, with universities in the regions of Albania, as well as with all other scientific institutions inside and outside the country. It was attended by 92 participants, mainly from universities in the Albanian territories, universities in the Albanian regions, as well as from other scientific institutions inside and outside the country.
In the plenary session, the following guests of honor gave lectures: prof. Emil Lafe, prof. Shezai Rrokaj, prof. Ledi Shkreli-Shamku and Prof. Asllan Hamiti. The professors in question also contributed as panel leaders, but also with scientific papers specially prepared to refer to and contribute to this conference. Their arrival and contribution were welcomed by all participants. The latter presented papers divided into panels according to specific fields, conveying new thoughts and ideas, as well as discussing and developing fruitful debates in the field of the Albanian language.
The conference closed with the wish that the tradition of holding such conferences in the field of linguistics will continue in the future.
