The first international scientific conference on linguistics: "Written and spoken discourse, real problems and concrete proposals for their solution". 

On 05.05. 2023, the Department of Albanian Language, at the Faculty of Education at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University, Durrës, had the honor and pleasure of organizing the first international scientific conference on linguistics with the topic: "Written and spoken discourse, real problems and concrete proposals for their solution. 

This conference was organized and conceived by the Head of the Albanian Language Department Prof. as. dr. Edlira Troplini (Abdurahmani) and the entire linguistics staff; it was held under the care and dedication of the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. as. dr. Klodiana Leka; with the strong support of the Rector of the University “A. Moisiu”, Durrës, Prof. Kseanela Sotirofski, the Vice Rector for Scientific Research, Prof. Sokol Pacukaj, as well as with the generous assistance of the Chancellor of this institution Mr. Gerald Çeka. 

The conference brought together academics, professors, researchers and scholars in the field of linguistics (not excluding those from other fields), from all Albanian universities and territories, who, through their ideas, thoughts and scientific contributions, presented through presentations and a summary of the materials of the papers, have contributed to solving some real problems related to discourse, both in terms of recognizing linguistic knowledge, as well as in terms of mastering practical skills and improving discourse capacity in use.

This conference highlighted some real problems of the written and spoken Albanian language, as well as problems related to language usage in all areas of our daily activity; problems related to usage styles, linguistic registers in speech and writing...etc.

The diverse linguistic variation demonstrates the indisputable value of human language, as well as its inevitable power at all times. Consequently, the mission of the conference and the philosophy of its conception are strongly linked to the work and awareness of the speaking individual for the most successful use of our linguistic ability with the aim of continuously improving discourse competence as an inherent part of our human behavior.
