Hate Speech and Youth: Inter-institutional Activity in Gjakova

On December 08–12, 2025, at the “Fehmi Agani” University, Gjakova, the 5-day activity for the project “Hate Speech: Democracy and Youth”, funded by AKKSHI, was successfully held. A cooperation project between the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosovo.

The main goal was to raise awareness among students about the use of hate speech and to collect data to understand where and how hate speech is most used among young people in Albania and Kosovo. The activity included:

The event was attended by Prof. Assoc.Dr. Artan Nimani, Prof.Assoc.Dr. Kimete Canaj, Prof.Assoc.Dr. Renata Tokrri, Prof.Assoc.Dr. Eva Teqja (Allushi), Prof.Dr. Sokol Pacukaj, who contributed with their expertise in the fields of sociology, communication, human rights and linguistics.

This activity represents an important step towards preventing hate speech and promoting tolerance among young people, equipping them with the competencies to recognize and oppose this phenomenon.
