Strengthening Academic Cooperation between UAMD & CIT

Today, at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës (UAMD), an important meeting took place between the university’s leaders and a delegation from the Canadian Institute of Technology (CIT). The meeting aimed to strengthen academic relations and create new opportunities for students and academic staff.

The meeting was attended by the Rector of UAMD, Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi, and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Llambi Prendi, who received their counterparts from CIT, headed by Rector Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoğlu. The CIT delegation also included the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Entele Gavoçi, and the Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Manuela Meçe.

This meeting aims to strengthen academic ties between the two institutions and promote fruitful cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research.

Main objectives of cooperation

During the meeting, both sides agreed on several important initiatives to expand and deepen academic cooperation, which include:

The Rector of UAMD, Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi, praised this collaboration as an important opportunity to create bridges between international academic institutions. He emphasized that this partnership will bring numerous benefits to Albanian students and researchers, increasing the quality of higher education and enabling access to contemporary academic practices.

On the other hand, CIT Rector, Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoğlu, expressed the institution's readiness to expand this cooperation, focusing on developing joint research and increasing academic interaction. He underlined the importance of incorporating technology into education and preparing students for the challenges of the labor market.

The Vice Rector of CIT, Prof. Dr. Manuela Meçe, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Entele Gavoçi, shared their vision to strengthen the interaction between students of the two institutions. They proposed the creation of joint projects, which will help students gain new experiences and engage in academic activities with an international character.
