The Erasmus+ KA171 project 2025-1-BG01-KA171-HED-000339139 brings together a diverse and dynamic consortium of 31 higher education institutions from 24 countries, united by a shared commitment to academic excellence, internationalisation, and global cooperation.

Coordinated by the International Business School (IBS) in Sofia, Bulgaria, the project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme and administered at the national level by the Bulgarian National Agency. The initiative fosters meaningful collaboration between IBS, as the European coordinating institution, and partner universities across multiple world regions.

The consortium unites leading higher education institutions distinguished by strong academic traditions, modern study programmes, and a shared commitment to international engagement. Its wide geographical coverage reflects the global ambition and inclusive vision of the Erasmus+ Programme:

  • Western Balkans: Montenegro, Albania

  • Eastern Partnership: Georgia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia

  • South Mediterranean: Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia

  • Asia: Nepal, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Maldives, Malaysia

  • Central Asia: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan

  • Sub-Saharan Africa: Cabo Verde, Rwanda

  • Latin America: Colombia, Mexico, Chile

  • European Union: Bulgaria

Together, these institutions form a strong international network dedicated to enhancing academic mobility, strengthening cooperation, and promoting intercultural understanding.

Project Objectives and Activities

The project supports the following key activities:

  • Student mobility for studies, enabling participants to experience new academic environments, diverse cultural contexts, and internationally recognised learning opportunities.

  • Staff mobility for teaching and training, fostering professional development, pedagogical innovation, and the exchange of expertise among academic and administrative staff.

Through these activities, the project aims to enhance the quality of higher education, encourage collaborative research initiatives, and deepen long-term institutional partnerships.
