Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science is part of the Faculty of Information Technology, which covers 2 Bachelor's degree programs: 'Computer Science', 'Informatics English' and the second cycle Master's degree program in "Applied Computer Science".

It aims to create, transmit, develop and protect knowledge through teaching, scientific research and services, as well as to train senior specialists and prepare new scientists in the field of Computer Science and Informatics, based on contemporary, qualified and suitable programs and curricula for the labor market in Albania or in other Western countries.

It aims to guarantee high quality and meet academic standards for all study programs, in both cycles that the department offers. To promote, support and develop the scientific activity of professors and students, through conferences or workshops.

To cooperate with organizations, institutions and private businesses to identify market demand and adapt curricula to meet it. To contribute to the practical training of students and especially graduates.

The academic staff of the Department attaches importance to scientific research, by elevating the name of UAMD, through active participation in Scientific Conferences (national and international), publications in scientific journals (with and without impact factor), as well as crowning its efforts with Scientific Titles and Degrees. Currently, the department has 18 Full-Time lecturers, of which 4 hold the degree of 'Doctor of Science'.
