The Department of Foreign Languages, part of the Faculty of Education at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës, consists of an academic team with extensive experience in the field of teaching, scientific research and professional development, contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of education provided. This department offers four study programs: two in the first cycle and two in the second cycle of studies, which are designed in accordance with market needs and the latest academic developments.
The department aims to prepare students skilled in the fields of linguistics, translation, interpretation, intercultural communication and foreign language teaching. Through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach, the study programs provide students with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in these fields, equipping them with competitive skills for the job market, both nationally and internationally.
Since its establishment, the Department of Foreign Languages has experienced a steady increase in the quality of teaching, following the highest academic and methodological standards. Engagement in national and international research projects, as well as partnerships with other academic institutions at home and abroad, have expanded opportunities for the development of students and academic staff. The Department also offers opportunities for professional internships and international mobility programs, helping students develop professional skills and gain intercultural experiences.

Prof. As. Dr. Anita Muho graduated from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages, English Language Department in 1998. In November 2015, she received her Doctor of Science degree from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences, in the field of Pedagogy, with the topic, “The effects of different assessment methods on student motivation during foreign language acquisition.” In May 2023, she received the title of Associate Professor in Pedagogy from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences. Active participation in national and international scientific conferences, publication of scientific articles in national and international scientific journals. Since October 2009 and onwards, she has been a full-time lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Education, where she covers the field of Pedagogy with the courses; “Pedagogy”; “Scientific Research Methods in Education” and “Second Language Acquisition”. Holds the position of Head of the Department of Foreign Languages since July 19, 2018. Prof.As. Dr Anita Muho is a member of the editorial boards of the international scientific journals “Journal of Contemporary Educational Research and Innovations (JCERI) ISSN 2249–9636” and “Journal of Leadership and Policy in schools. Dr. Anita Neziri completed her undergraduate studies in 2004-2008 at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, in the English language department. She completed her Master of Science studies at the University of Tirana, at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, in the literature profile, specifically American literature, starting in 2009 and finishing in 2011.
In 2017, he received his Doctor of Science degree in the field of American literature; his dissertation was titled "Black Humor in the Prose of Joseph Heller"
He currently holds the position of Lecturer at the "Aleksander Moisiu" University of Durrës since 2009. His research field coincides with the field of literature.

Dr. Alketa DUMANI graduated from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages, English Language branch in 1999 and from the Faculty of Law, UT in 2004. In the period 2009-2012, she completed her Master's Degree in "International Relations", University of Tirana, Faculty of History and Philology, defending the topic "Transnational Political Radicalization as a Challenge of Global Developments". In November 2017, she received the Doctor of Science degree from New York University, Tirana, Faculty of Humanities, in the field of International Relations, with the topic, "Trans-Atlantic Relations after the Cold War: Past, Present, Future." Active participation in national and international scientific conferences, publications of scientific articles in national and international scientific journals. Since November 2012 and continuing, she has been a full-time lecturer in the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Education, where she covers the field of History and Civilization with the courses; “American Civilization History”, “British Civilization History”, “Teaching through Historical Context” and “English Language”.

Dr. Emilda Roseni e graduated from Aleksandër Xhuvani University, Elbasan, in the Faculty of Humanities, English Language branch, in 2007 and Master of Science studies in Technical-Literary Translation and Interpreting at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana (2012). In July 2016, she received the degree of Doctor of Science at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences, in the field of Pedagogy, with the topic, “The assessment component in the foreign language curriculum.” In July 2023, she received the title of Associate Professor in Pedagogy from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences. Msc. Elira Xhakollari, lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Education, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës. She holds a Master of Science degree as “Translator and Interpreter of the German Language” from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana and is pursuing her doctoral studies at the “Aldo Moro” University, Bari, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures (Translation from German, Albanology). She has been a lecturer at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University since 2018. Her previous position was as a lecturer of German at “Aleksandër Xhuvani” University of Elbasan and at “Ismail Qemali” University, Vlorë. Doctoral student Xhakollari is the author and co-author of several scientific publications and papers.

Prof. As. Dr. Ervin Balla, lecturer at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tirana in 2000, and his Master’s studies in pedagogy and teaching in English in 2013. He received his Doctor of Science degree at the University of Tirana of Foreign Languages in 2015, with the thesis entitled “Teaching English to Albanian Students”. He is currently a full-time lecturer at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University and covers the subjects “Basics of the English Language”, “Methodology of Teaching English” and “Business English”.

Dr. Ekaterina Strati (Gjergo), completed her university studies with excellent results on 13.07.2007, in the “Teaching of English Language” branch at the Department of English Language, Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana. Upon completing her university studies, in November 2007 she started working as a full-time Lecturer at the “A.Moisiu” University of Durrës, Faculty of Education, Department of Foreign Languages. At the same time, she was engaged as a part-time Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana.
In terms of her professional qualifications, she deepened her qualifications through advanced studies in the “Master” study program (July 2011) at the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Education, UT, and later received the degree of Doctor of Science at the same department. She is the author of several scientific papers in the field of linguistics and teaching, as well as a participant in national and international conference presentations in the same field. She also participated in one of the most prominent conventions organized at the global level in the field of English language teaching, TESOL International Convention & English Language Expo Dallas, Texas, USA, 20-23 March 2013, where she co-authored with renowned names in the field of English language studies. Also, speaker at one of the most prestigious conferences organized at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, “International Journal of Arts and Sciences’ conference, 18-22 March 2013. In the same year, I was certified by the Ministry of Justice with the title of Legal Translator. I have participated in several projects and mobilities funded by the EU. I am currently part of the working group and coordinator for young people in the field of Scientific research for Cost Action 21114.
Currently, he continues to be part of the full-time academic staff at "A. Moisiu" Durrës, as well as part of the part-time staff at the University of Tirana.

Dr. Florinda Boriçi is a lecturer in the Department of Foreign Languages, at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës. She holds a “Bachelor’s degree in British and American Studies” from the University of Tirana, as well as a “Master of Science degree in American Literature” from the University of Tirana. In 2018, she earned her Doctor of Science degree in American Literature from the University of Tirana. She began her academic career working as a part-time lecturer at the University of Tirana and then at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës, where she currently works as a full-time lecturer and teaches the courses Literature across Literary Genres and Anglo-American Civilization and Literature.
Florinda Boriçi has participated in several national and international conferences. She has also published several scientific articles. Her publications include: “Emancipation: A Constant Theme in Kate Chopin’s Short Stories” (2014), “Kate Chopin: An Author Ahead of Her Time” (2015), “The Pure Affirmation of Female Sexuality in Kate Chopin’s Work” (2016).

Prof. As. Dr. Gentjana Taraj was born in Albania on January 10, 1975. She received her bachelor’s degree as a Translator and Teacher of English from the University of Vlora in 2003, and her MA and Ph.D. degrees in Linguistics from the University of Tirana in 2011. She also successfully completed her Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Linguistics from the University of Potsdam, Germany, in 2012. Since 2015, she has joined the Department of Foreign Languages at the ‘Aleksandër Moisiu’ University in Durrës as a full-time lecturer. Her research interests lie mainly in the areas of applied linguistics such as second language teaching, translation studies and psychological approaches to education. To date, she has published many scientific papers in various international conferences and journals, and is the author of a monograph on the assessment of translation quality, as well as a series of lectures on the stylistics of the English language.

Dr. Marsela Turku was born on March 15, 1982. She completed her higher education at the University of Tirana. In 2004, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Department of English Language. In 2009, she completed her postgraduate studies at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages, in the Anglo-American Literature profile. In 2014, she received the scientific degree of Doctor of Science from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages, in the field of world literature studies. In 2004, she worked as a lecturer at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages. From 2008 onwards, she has been a first lecturer at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University. During this time, she has conducted studies, research and publications mainly in the field of American, British, didactic literature, etc. She has participated in many national and international scientific conferences. During this time, she has published a significant number of research articles published in various international scientific journals and two monographs as a sole author.

MSc. Megi Tirana graduated, in 2010, as an English Language Professor at "Aleksander Moisiu" University of Durres, Faculty of Education and in 2014 completed her Master of Science postgraduate studies in English/Albania Language and Literature. In 2010, she started planning and researching scientific projects in tutoring, mentoring, and coaching which led her to discover the coaching profession. Numerous trainings count for 13 years of experience with trainings like Mindvalley University's "Lifebook", etc. She graduated from the Transformation Academy, located in Florida, the USA, as a Goal Setting to Success Life Coach in 2021 and has helped individuals and teams create their blueprint in personal life and business. Besides her coaching career, she continues with her previous contribution as a medical, legal, and general translator and interpreter at Effectiff since 2021; Vice President of Be In Albania Company since 2020; Translator and Interpreter at Be In Balkans since 2014; the CEO of the Training and Education Center since 2010; Full-time English Coach and Lecturer at "Aleksander Moisiu" University since 2022. Prof. as. dr Klodiana Leka, a highly regarded lecturer with a broad academic background, has over 17 years of experience in teaching English and pedagogy. Having previously served as Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Education, Prof. as. dr. Leka has held the position of Dean at the Faculty of Education since 2022. Msc. Sonila Osmani is an assistant lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Education, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës. She graduated in 2007 at the Faculty of Foreign Languages- Tirana, in the English language department where she received the title “High School English Teacher”. She is pursuing her studies in the Third Cycle of Studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Tirana.
