Today the IEE 2024 International Congress on 'Quantum and Biomedical Application Technologies and Sensors' started at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës!
The ceremony of this Congress was opened by the Rector of UAMD, Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi, followed by welcoming speeches by Prof. Ing. Antonino Fiorillo from the University of Catanzaro, Mr. Tom Darden, founder and CEO of Cherokee, and Prof. Vincenzo Vespri from the University of Florence.
This two-day event brings together academics and experts from around the world to discuss technologies and sensors that could revolutionize the fields of quantum and medical sciences.

It is my pleasure to begin this opening ceremony of the International Congress on “Quantum and Biomedical Application Technologies and Sensors” and to welcome you on behalf of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës. This is a historic moment for us and our academic community, as we hold this event for the first time in Albania, bringing together brilliant minds from all over the world.
I am happy that we are working together with the University of Catanzaro in Italy to bring here experts and professionals from all over the world, who will share their knowledge and experiences in the innovative fields of quantum technologies and biomedical applications.
Science and technology are experiencing a new era of development, and our contribution to this field is essential for the future of our society. We are all here to explore new opportunities, share ideas, and create partnerships that will impact the advancement of research and innovation.
Our university has a strong commitment to advancing research in these areas, especially through the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Professional Studies. These faculties play a key role in preparing and training qualified specialists who will contribute to advancing research and innovation in information technology and biomedical applications.
