Program Description

The Bachelor's degree program in "Economic Informatics" will be a bachelor's degree program with 180 credits for three years of study.
To the students of this study program, "Aleksandër Moisiu" University will provide: scientific and theoretical training as well as practical training on the recognition of professional qualifications to conduct scientific analysis and research in the field of Economic Informatics and specifically that of programming and economic analysis.
This program aims that after 3 years of study, the student will be professionally capable of working in various public and non-public organizations, in contributing to the development of strategies in Economic Informatics as a current requirement for various economic operators.

Pedagogical and methodological preparation to maximize the success of "Economic Informatics" students

Main Objectives of the Program::

At the end of this program, students will be equipped with the fundamental theoretical knowledge derived from basic sciences, with the aim of their subsequent professional application, the skills to discover and critically evaluate.

Graduates of this program should know the basics of programming, computer fundamentals, databases and data structures, as well as other basic economic and computer science disciplines.
This preparation will be provided by a balanced number of lectures, supported by an appropriate statistical-mathematical methodological approach.

The graduate of the Economic Informatics program must also be able to apply informatics knowledge and economic theory in various fields such as economic policy, industrial and environmental economics, etc. For this purpose, in addition to theoretical lectures, interventions by personnel from enterprises and institutions, both public and private, are also foreseen. The study of monographs as part of the final exam completes the graduate's knowledge and skills in understanding the latest topics published in the literature, related to various economic issues.

What is the basic unit of delivery of the study program?

The proposed Bachelor program “Economic Informatics” will be offered by the Department of Statistics and Applied Informatics. This recently established department consists of a qualified staff of 7 members. The composition of the department is as follows:

  • two members with the title of Professor Doctor,
  • two members with the title of Associate Professor,
  • two members with doctorate degrees
  • one MSc member (in the process of a doctorate).

The members of the department are specialists in the fields of Statistics, Research Methods, Econometrics, Mathematics and other computer and economic sciences.
