On March 31, 2023, the Alliance of European Universities STARS EU concluded its meeting in University of La Laguna in Spain, concluding in the further empowerment of all its working group structures. Thus, all Cooperation Structures and TIGs (thematic interest groups) expressed their great satisfaction with the meeting held these two days, which served to talk extensively, to learn the status of each team's projects and to planned next steps. The Alliance aspires to receive the European University seal from European Commission, which would improve the international status of the institutions included, as they may have access to specific calls, as well as in the future of sustainable development. The network consists of the Hanseatic University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), which is also the center that runs STARS EU; Polytechnic Institute of Braganza (Portugal); University of of Applied Sciences in Bremen (Germany); University of Silesia in Opava (Republic of Czech); Oste University (Sweden); Aleksandër Moisiu University, Durrës (Albania); Krakow University of Technology (Poland); University of Franche-Comte (France) and itself University of La Laguna.. Since it is still a very new initiative that has not yet generated specific products such as joint diplomas or joint projects, young people chose to spread the spirit of this collaborative network of high-impact universities in their regions with a broad europian vision. The Rector of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences emphasized in the closing session that Internationalization has great potential for universities and will help in the future of this network, despite the great cultural diversity and their contexts. Also, Mr. Ernesto Pereda, from the University of La Laguna, emphasized that the network works at a global level on challenges main challenges facing societies, where he quoted "We are better together than divided." The alliance coordinator, Rima Rijska, urged all members to feel proud of their belong to this network, which is divided into working groups of researchers dedicated to economics, digital transition, energy transition, healthy aging, entrepreneurship and innovation, arts and creative industries, and living spaces.
