Adela Domi Wins Prestigious “NATO Student Award” for the Western Balkans

“NATO Student Challenge Western Balkans”, was an activity organized by NATO’s Allied Command Transformation (ACT) in cooperation with the International Staff Political Affairs and Security Policy Division (IS-PASP), which aimed to highlight the role of young people in security policies. Students from the Western Balkans were invited to participate in the activity to further delve into NATO’s strategic challenges in the region.

Based on a competition on audiovisual materials, where students expressed their opinions regarding NATO challenges, three students were selected to participate in Sarajevo at the meeting of the Command Forces, on 22-24 October 2024, to present their opinions to senior NATO officials.

The representative for Albania at this event was Adela Domi, a student of the Master of Science program in International Relations and Diplomacy at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Law, who won first prize among 50 candidates from across the Western Balkans.

Adela discussed global security issues, and further on the challenges and hybrid threats of allied countries, the challenges between Kosovo and Serbia, and cooperation in the Western Balkans. In her presentation, Adela emphasized the importance of student exchanges between universities in the region, joint projects among young people, etc. She was announced as the Winner of the NATO Student Challenge Western Balkans.

Thank you Adela for making us proud and continued success.

We thank lecturer Dr. Mirela Metushaj for her support in this presentation.
