“𝑴𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒑𝒆𝒎ë𝒏 𝒕ë𝒏𝒅𝒆!”- this was the message of the activity on December 13, 2024, from UAMD, under the care of Rectorate, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇. 𝑫𝒓. 𝑺𝒉𝒌ë𝒍𝒒𝒊𝒎 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒛𝒊.
*Results:*
Over 250 volunteers participated, each planting their own tree, 100 olive trees, 100 eucalyptus trees, and more!
● over 150 students, academic and administrative staff
from 5 faculties, who also came with bags of recyclable plastic bottles.
● over 100 students, teachers and principals from 6 9-year schools and a gymnasium in Durrës: Bajram Curri, Hafiz Ali Podgrorica, Jusuf Puka, Marie Kaçulini, Bilal Golemi-Xhafzotaj, Leonik Tomeo.
●They were recycled 
130 kg of plastic bottles for the month of December.
● The short film "Yesterday and Today", based on the well-known film "Tomka and His Friends", was promoted on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, by producer-teacher Marsida Mezja and the 5th grade class, "Bajram Curri" school.
Artistic installations were promoted:
as a collaboration of Artist Malvina Dreni with schools and the University of Durrës. The work with 1000 bottle caps and epoxy resin top is placed at the Faculty of Education, UAMD. “We want a clean Albania and keep it beautiful as it is!” #cleanishëmriver "They are the heroes of this beautiful initiative!" says the artist of the work, Malvina Dreni.
2. Work of Art, “The Tree Rooted in Education, Fruit of a Pure Albania”". It starts with us, the teachers. We are the roots that plant the values of education and responsibility in the younger generations, thus enriching society with educated and conscious individuals. Education, like a tree that has deep roots, develops and grows through our influence as teachers, starting from the fundamental values of environmental protection and plastic reduction, which are part of a responsible education for a cleaner future." - says virtuoso teacher Marsida Mezja.
"This work with 5,000 corks by me connects education and environmental cleaning with the role of teachers as founders of values for a sustainable society," continues teacher Marsida Mezja of grade Vc, "Bajram Curri" school, a work of art that was placed at the Faculty of Education, UAMD.
We were honored with her participation by the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, who supported us with the free transport of 14 tons of plastic to a recycling company, to turn the proceeds into greenery and sports/didactic equipment.
At the end of the activity, certificates for volunteer work were awarded by the Rector of UAMD and art through recycling was promoted.
The rector promised: "The beginning of a UAMD-Gymnasium-9-year school cooperation, which will be further strengthened in the future."
